Congratulations Michelle and Christopher!

Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Center is happy to announce that Michelle and Christopher are the winners of the “Win a Wedgewood Wedding” Contest! They will be receiving a wedding valued at over $10,000 at our Sterling Hills Golf Club location in Camarillo on Sunday, November 21st, 2010!

Michelle and Christopher were selected as one of five finalists from an original pool of over 80 applicants. They then became the winners through public voting on our Web site. Wedgewood would like to thank all of our applicants, and all of you who participated by voting!

Essay:

Three years ago I walked in the room and saw a beautiful woman playing amongst children with special needs. Instantly we connected through our love of helping others. For weeks out of the summer we couldn’t stop talking or hanging around one another every day. It wasn’t but a few short weeks of dating before I told Michelle I loved her.

Now, years later our love for each other has strengthened to a degree I never thought possible for two people. Deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, recessions, lost friends and family… only made two best friends closer. Before I left for my last deployment I asked her to marry me on Christmas morning and she has patiently waited for me to come home to begin our lives. Since coming back, my promises of a beautiful wedding and a house have been harder to fulfill than I thought. Still working and volunteering, she devotes her time to others so much I feel she deserves a wedding day to be as wonderful as she is.

Since I’ve known her, Michelle has dreamed of a fairytale wedding, but would never ask. I’m always saving money for a house so much that I don’t know how we could ever have a wedding. Wedgewood makes our dream possible with providing that fairytale wedding. My wife to be is honestly the most giving, loving person you’d ever meet and she truly deserves to receive her dream Wedgewood wedding. Please help us have our happily ever after
